A life devoted to sharing the love of Jesus.

Michael Bradley Schwartz grew up in the Atlanta area and lived in Acworth, Georgia. He attended Kennesaw Mountain High School, earned an undergraduate degree in Youth and Family Ministry from Lee University, and later earned a master's degree in education from Grand Canyon University.

Michael's faith in Jesus Christ shaped the way he lived and served. He had a gift for sharing God's love and the gospel with others, and he devoted his adult life to ministry. College students and college athletes held a particular place in his heart. He began Elevate Athletes Foundation so he could walk beside student athletes, encourage them, and help them grow in faith.

He understood that an athlete's life extends far beyond a game. His vision for Elevate joined spiritual formation with character, leadership, and a sense of purpose that would last through changes in sport and life. The principles in his founding handbook ask for patient growth, honest stewardship, and care for each athlete as a person.

Michael also loved sports for the sheer joy of them. He followed the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves closely, and his knowledge of football recruiting could surprise even fans of other teams. He was a devoted son, brother, friend, and especially a loving uncle. His family remembers his laughter, his deep faith, and the way he made people feel seen and cared for.

Michael died on September 25, 2026. His absence is deeply felt by his family, friends, and the people he touched through ministry. Elevate shares the work he began and the hope at its center: that athletes can know who they are in Christ and carry that identity into every season of life.
